Care protocols and automatic reminders
How to set up recurring treatment and vaccination schedules.
Care protocols are schedules that automatically create reminders for routine treatments — annual vaccinations, quarterly drenching, monthly lice checks, and so on.
View built-in protocols
MusterMate includes built-in protocols for common Australian livestock programs. Go to Care Protocols in the sidebar to see and activate them.
Create a custom protocol
- 1Go to Care Protocols
- 2Tap + Protocol
- 3Enter the protocol name, species, and treatment type
- 4Set the interval (e.g. every 90 days)
- 5Choose whether it applies to all animals or a specific group
- 6Tap Save
How reminders work
Once a protocol is active, MusterMate creates a reminder at each interval. When you record the treatment, the next reminder is automatically scheduled.
Link a protocol to a care protocol reminder on a new animal's record to start the cycle immediately after joining your herd.
