Recording treatments
How to log a medication or chemical treatment for a single animal.
Treatment records capture what medication was given, the dose, the withholding period, and who administered it — keeping your ESI/WHP records in order.
Record a treatment
- 1Go to Treatments
- 2Tap + Treatment
- 3Select the animal or group being treated
- 4Choose the medication from the list (or add a new one)
- 5Enter the date, dose, route, and batch number
- 6The withholding period and ESI auto-fill from the medication record
- 7Tap Save
Adding medications
MusterMate includes a built-in list of common Australian livestock medications. If yours isn't listed, tap "Add medication" to enter the name, default dose, WHP, and ESI.
Withholding periods
After saving a treatment, the animal's record shows the earliest safe slaughter date and export slaughter interval based on the WHP/ESI. A warning flag appears if the animal is scheduled for sale before the WHP expires.
Treatment records are included in the full data export and the NVD assistant. Keep them accurate for food safety compliance.
