Recording weights and tracking ADG
How to log weigh-day results and read the Average Daily Gain stats.
MusterMate tracks weight history per animal and automatically calculates Average Daily Gain (ADG) — the rate of weight gain per day between two measurements.
Record a weight
- 1Open an animal's detail page
- 2Scroll to the Weight section
- 3Tap + Weight
- 4Enter the date and weight in kilograms
- 5Tap Save
Understanding ADG
Once you have two or more weight records, MusterMate shows an ADG summary card:
- Recent ADG — gain per day between the last two weigh dates
- Overall ADG — gain per day from the first recorded weight to the latest (shown when 3+ records exist)
ADG is shown in kg/day. A positive number (green) means the animal is gaining; a negative number (red) means it is losing weight.
Weight chart
The weight chart shows all recorded weights over time. Use it to spot growth plateaus, illness-related dips, or the impact of feed changes.
For accurate ADG, record weights on consistent intervals — monthly for growing animals, or at each weaning / pregnancy check.
